Sadly it's a job due to arthritis and Fibromyalgia I can no longer due but once......
I was a Jr. Firefighter with a volunteer company my boyfriend belonged to and the only female on the dept in any capacity.
I'd always loved fire shows and watchin the fire trucks, field trips to one of the local stations as a child. I started datin a firefighter at 16 and watchin him and his dept. in action, dealin with the public at events, and takin pics for them on scenes oh yea this was where I knew I was supposed to be Belongin to the dept. was an awesome dream come true for me. I was a kid in a toy store and told to help myself to anythin and everythin.....
When I graduated high school I immediately enrolled in a local college for my emt and fire fightin certs... I struggled badly as puttin a pack and mask on just sent me through massive panic attacks....
The guys at the dept. bein guys ... yea well let's just so many bets were placed on if I'd graduate or not and I knew they were bein placed. The more I heard you won't make it, you're only a girl, girls don't belong in firee service anyway etc, etc
The more determined I became and with the help of an awesome class mate and some wonderful teachers oh HELL YEA. I graduated and had my degree :).
I WAS a FIREFIGHTER !!!!!!!
